The 2023 San Francisco Marathon will take place on Sunday, July 23, 2023.
Celebrating 46 years as one of the most popular running events in the United States, The San Francisco Marathon its the only full marathon in San Francisco.
Participants can choose from seven different races from July 22 to 23, with options to cross the iconic Golden Gate Bridge at sunrise.
Historically, more than 24,000 runners participate in the race and represent 80 different countries from around the globe.

The Basics
- Dates: July 22-23, 2023
- Expo Packet Pickup: July 21-22 at Fort Mason Festival Pavilion, #2 Marina Blvd.
- Races: There are seven different race formats—including a 5K catered to families, dogs, and strollers, and a 1K for all ages—to choose from. For more info, click here.
- Full Marathon Race Start Time and Location: 5:30 a.m. at Embarcadero and Mission St.
- Full Marathon Race Finish: 12:00 p.m. at Embarcadero and Folsom St. (Main Marathon Finish Line)
- Full Marathon Race Distance: 26.2 miles, with a time limit of 6 hours.
